Welcome

Welcome to the Florida Sport Fishing Association Club,

Thank you for joining FSFA!  We are a family-friendly, non-profit social organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the enjoyment of sport fishing on the Space Coast and throughout the state of Florida. Membership is the first step in opening the many possibilities to get involved.

Through education and economic contribution, the FSFA strives to do its part to preserve and enhance the precious marine resources for future generations to enjoy. We have provided grants to the Brevard County Public Schools’ marine science education programs, assisted in funding sea turtle care at the Brevard Zoo, and contributed to Brevard County’s efforts at artificial reef building.

FSFA has actively participated in community service projects for over 50 years. Each year we conduct kids’ fishing clinics for up to 500 participants. This past year we limited our clinic to 100 kids, and we were so successful that the Boy Scouts asked us to help them a second time, and we happily complied.

We have a monthly club meeting at 6:30pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Veteran’s Memorial Park located on Merritt Island. Food and drinks are provided for a donation, and guest speakers educate and entertain us with both inshore and offshore fishing topics. In June we have our Annual Offshore Slam Tournament, which typically attracts about 150 fishing teams and is our biggest fundraiser. During the year the club has a point system for keeping track of members’ catches. Occasionally one of our members earns enough points (1,000) to become a Grand Master, which is a tremendous achievement that we celebrate at the Annual Awards Banquet in January. We also crown Club Champs (Overall, Saltwater, and Freshwater) and recognize Fish of the Month winners and announce the Fish of the Year. During the Banquet members are encouraged to offer Members’ Challenges to catch specific species in a specific manner. The challenges come with a monetary award, and winners are announced at the Banquet.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to FSFA. Please feel free to reach out to me or any of the Board members should you have any comments or questions. Our club relies completely on volunteers, and we sincerely hope you find opportunities that interest you. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our events, and we hope to see you frequently, on or off the water.

Sincerely,

Nacho Sanchez

2022 Club President
